We moved out to the farm on September 15th 2011. My kids have all grown and for the most part moved out and went onto college, living adult lives. I have been a huge gardener and wanted more for myself and my passion. My goal was to live a life of sustainability. I wanted chickens for the eggs, goats and cows for their milk and meat. I have shared my garden with our local pantries to help people in the community and I cannot tell you the feeling I get. Not sure how to get started with Sustainable living Plan? Check out this informative link on Sustainable living.
As a child we moved around a lot. Many times we were living in a new place without furniture but I never went hungry. My dad and mom always kept us well fed and clothed. As a mother and wife I can say I have been horribly blessed. My husband has always had a job that has blessed him. We have given to food shelves and back when the kids were young have gone to them to help us over a hump.

Look what I found simply by looking in my bathroom, I am already using the brands!
How are you living a sustainable life?
- We put it all into the compost bin
- We use natural fertilizers from the chickens and rabbits to better our soil.
- We utilize a rain barrel.
- Obvious things like washing in cold water, turning the faucet off when we brush out teeth are sometimes forgotten.
- Non Perishable Grains
- Instant Meals
- Canned Fruits
- Canned Proteins
Watch for my post next week donating to our local food pantry.
