Spin Into Action Donation #SpinBrushCFK #CBias

#SpinBrush

I wrote a post last week discussing the Champions For Kids Spin into Action Program.  I am thrilled to be a part of this and donate to a local food shelf.  We picked up a couple Spin Brushes along with toothbrushes, toothpaste, rinses, and floss.  My kids actually loved going to the dentist when they were younger.  They went at least twice a year, we were fortunate enough to have a good dental plan.  I know so many are not.

This food shelf is called family Pathways, building stronger communities on person at a time.  When we were first starting out with kids I visited the food shelf a few times when life was hard.  I didn't tell my husband I remember because I thought it would make him feel bad.  We got more than food.  Toiletries were in the box along with diapers, formula and laundry detergent.  All things that a young family needs.

Food Shelf Donation

You can learn more about the Spinbrush Project here and how to get involved.  I had planned on getting out to the Food Shelf on Friday with my old neighbors to drop off donations with them but came down with some sort of flu :-(  I was happy my daughter had work off to join me.  She has been busy going to school to be a medical assistant and hoping to be able to work with children.  This would be great for her to be a part of.

Food Shelf Donation

This food shelf I have to say was so inviting when we walked in.  I had called to find out what sort of procedure if any there was for donations but no one picked up.  The gentlemen said come on in what can I help you with.  When I said I had a donation he was thrilled and also asked me if I wanted a receipt.  Men were building a new shelving unit for the toiletries and he was thrilled to show me his new walk in freezer that was donated from our local electric company.

Champions For Kids

Heading in and taking a look around people were busy building and getting ready for a semi shipment that would be coming tomorrow.  My daughter and I felt so fortunate to donate these items.

Look at the vegetables, I decided then and there I would be bringing a bushel of apples and a nice amount of vegetables from the garden.  I would also like to make recipe cards because I don't think everyone truly knows how many different dishes you can make with zucchini and squash.

Spin Into Action

So many staples for the pantry.
