Coop Update 3 #ChickenCoop #Gardening

If you have been following our Chicken Coop building we are getting somewhere now!  Last week we had all four sides up of the Chicken Coop.  I worked with my husband over the weekend, well he built the trusses over a few minor curse words, I just shook my head and tended to the gardens.  I asked for the hundredth time, would you like some help, finally he agreed.  I watched him put the first piece up of the Trusses and it looked so difficult.  There are six pieces then two 2x4 for added support running through the center.     I got up on a ladder and he hoisted the trusses up one at a time, let me tell you that was really difficult for me but I persevered.  I kept saying, I am so out of shape.  They are really heavy too.  My fingers are bruised from squeezing and tugging for dear life.  But I am so glad I could help!

We cut pieces of lumber and added this where the cute little front door will go, I wanted to see if this is the siding I was thinking about.  It was a staging if you will.  We have to pick up some large sheets of wood, can't remember what they are called and then wrap the structure.  So far this will be the first thing we are spending money on.  Everything thus far has been FREE!   I rock on craigslist by the way.  Have you ever posted an add on Craigslist asking for something for free?  Well try it, people are happy to assist :-)

I was thinking as I was helping how cute this is looking!    I now know why people where cowboy hats.  I thought it was for keeping the sun out of your eyes, oh know!  Horse flies F'ing hurt!  I was inside at this point and the house was cold, it was in the high 90's outside, so hard to transition when your working outside LOL.  Hubby is doing such an awesome job.  He is doing this all by himself too.  Well heading outside for a bit of watering and weeding :-) Happy Hump Day..

  1. I would love to have chickens but my current lifestyle makes that impossible. Maybe someday
