Go Green while coloring your eggs

Natural foods for coloring your eggs

I decided to use some items I had around the house to color some eggs for my mothers dish I take out for the holidays. I always make some sort of birds nest and add the eggs. This year I added some Honeysuckle to the little arrangment. This was my first shot at coloring this way..

I boiled the rasberries with a little water and added a tablespoon of Vinegar.. I did the same with the rest of the ingredients, then I simmered it for about fifteen minutes. I had already cooked the eggs so then I  placed the eggs in the coloring for about thirty minutes. The Brown one is coffee, how cool is that. The Grape juice worked better then the Rasberries. I plan on doing more experimenting and creating designs with onion peels. How about you? Have you tried using food for coloring your eggs?

I also used Tumeric which made a beautiful light yellow egg.  Now that I think of it I could of used Ground Mustard.
