Thinking of Spring and Gardening 2

Working on my Garden design this morning.  Writing some notes about my garden that was a success in the old house.  Now I have acres and acres to play with.  I am excited and over whelmed at the same time.

Heading out to pick up seed starting supplies tomorrow AM. Going to go look in the barn to check out the wood supplies for building raised beds and fencing around the garden.  I have some pretty big plans that I am guessing my husband thinks I am crazy.  The hardest part will be placing the beams into the ground for the fencing.  Adding large pieces of wood horizontally I can do my self with a hammer and nail.  Then we will add some sort of chicken wire onto the fencing to keep the chickens and what ever else I end up with in the garden area. This is what I am thinking of. This can be done for sure!

I want some of the beds to be raised high like this one.  They will not be this pretty but you get the idea.

So what about you?  Do you garden, would you like to?

  1. I would love to garden, but we live in suburbia. I want some raised beds, like the one you pictured, so I can put them on my patio.

  4. I tried gardening last year but it didn't really work out. I hate the Florida soil. I'll definitely need to get a raised bed this year if I try to tackle it again

  6. I had a raised bed a several years ago, but would love to have some high like in the picture... so much easier on your back. :) I've had fairly large gardens to just a few patio plants the last couple of years, because I just don't have the time I'd like to be able to work a garden.
