Drugfree.org Get Involved

Did you know that 85 million Americans are directly impacted by addiction. This is a great place to read about their stories if you want to get involved. Andrew Zimmerman has a great story to listen to about his past and habit he overcame. Andrew was a regular food critic for the Twin Cities for years on our local Fox network, I really like him and was intrigued by his story.

I myself have been involved with more than one person close to me that defiantly struggles with alcohol and have done my best to get involved with programs to treat and discover how and where it starts.

We are thrilled to welcome award-winning TV personality, chef and food writer Andrew Zimmern for the return of our “Meet The Parents Hour,” a popular, LIVE Facebook chat and Q&A session on Thursday, February 2 at 12 p.m. EST/ 9 a.m. PST.

Andrew will share his path to recovery and offer encouragement to others who may be struggling with a loved one’s addiction.

  1. Honestly, I think it's a lot higher than 85 million.

  2. It's really sad how many people are affected by addiction. It breaks my heart for them, their family, their loved ones.

  3. What a great organization. I'm betting the number is much higher, sadly.

  4. I love Andrew Zimmern and had no idea he was in recovery. I too have watched too many friends go down the path of addiction. It's so sad :(

  5. I'm hard pressed to not find someone that hasn't been effected by addiction in some way. So sad.
