Take on Gumbo Soup

Decheines  Gumbo Soup Recipe

I have soup cooking from fall through early spring every day. I kid you not, I am a crazy soup lady and I have to have it simmering on the stove. I always have to have something simmering I guess either stove top or in a crock pot. This AM I was up early with hubby discussing our evening plans.

My son just came home from graduating college and is a bit in limbo. He is hoping to get a great job with Kohl's which would give him the choice where he wants to train as a Manager. I am guessing he goes back to Mankato where his girlfriend is still attending college. I really want my spare room back so I can make it into a craft room. Hey I will add a Twin bed or cute little Futon for kids when they return.

Recipe Ingredients

3 Cans Chopped Tomatoes and Green Chilies
2 Cans Okra
2 Cans Corn
1 Can Kidney Beans
1 Cup Chopped Celery
Half a Cup of frozen peas
Half a Cup Chopped Onion
2 Cans Tomato Juice (Depending on pot size etc)
1 Box Dirty Rice
Cayenne Pepper to taste. (The rice already has seasoning in it)

Mix it all up and let simmer on stove for about an hour. Enjoy.
