Salmon Patties RecipeThis is a good alternative to a burger, this is a low fat recipe if your looking for something other than a beef burger. These were grilled on a stove top grill and were eaten before I could nab a picture, darn kids! I had a beautiful wheat bun that I added a spicy mustard and Hellman's Real Mayo as the spread. Along with lettuce and tomato. I am sure you get the idea.
IngredientsOne can of Salmon
One Medium size Green Pepper
One Medium Onion
2 Eggs (You will use only the whites)
Basil and Old Bay Seasoning
DirectionsPeel the skin off the back of the salmon the best you can and then use a spoon to chop up the salmon, there ARE little tiny bones in the salmon that look like little teeth, LOL, these ARE edible and give you extra calcium they break up, if you don't want them in the patty take out. Use your fork and break it up.
Next chop up your onion, green pepper and separate your egg whites. (Don't know how to?) Quick tip, crack the egg and then over a bowl open the egg and play catch with the yellow yolk. Just keep trying to get it into the shells, the white liquid will fall out.
Take your lemon and with a grater, grate the yellow of the Rhine, do your best to only get the yellow, do the whole lemon. Cut the lemon in half and save this because you will add the juice into the mixture.
Add the chopped Veggies, Egg Whites, Lemon Zest, Juice of the lemon and a Cup of the Bread Crumbs into a Large Mixing Bowl and mix it up baby.. Then roll into 4 patties.
Now we are going to simply flatten these out into patties and grill on a stove top grill. I cook them for about 7 minutes on each side and at the end of cooking add a mixture of Hellman's Real Mayonnaise and a Spicy Mustard on the top of it for a warm spread. Sorry no finished product.. My family literally grabbed these as soon as I turned around after cleaning up my mess..
